GT vs MI: Mumbai Indians' Predicted Playing XI Against Gujarat Titans.

Gujarat Titans take on Mumbai Indians in match 51 of IPL 2022 at the Brabourne stadium on May 6. Gujarat are topping the points table while Mumbai are placed tenth. Both teams are playing each other for the very first time in the season. Another win would guarantee Gujarat a spot in the playoffs.

Gujarat Titans lost their last game against Punjab Kings. They won five on the trot before losing their previous game against Punjab. Despite the defeat, they are topping the points table. However, there are concerns for the aside as they did not bat well. The same was acknowledged by their skipper Hardik Pandya as well. They fielded the same XI against Punjab as they did against RCB.

They seemed to have found the right combination and might go unchanged in this game as well. Meanwhile, in this article, we try and predict Gujarat Titans predicted playing Xi against Mumbai Indians.

Saha has given them quick starts in the few matches that he has played so far for Gujarat Titans. The experiment has been highly successful barring the last game. However, the management would not change the opening combination.

After two early big scores in the tournament, Shubman Gill has lost his form. In the last match against Punjab, he was run out in an unfortunate manner. He would like to get back to form against Mumbai Indians. He has scored 269 runs in the first 10 games for Gujarat.

In a match where all other GT batsmen struggled, Sudarshan took them above 140 scoring an unbeaten 65 off 50 balls. One feels he has done enough to retain his place in the XI.

Pandya scored just one-off seven balls against Punjab Kings. He also did not bowl in the game. He seems to be a bit concerned about not facing up an injury just having returned fit to the squad. He previously missed a game due to injury concerns as well.

David Miller

Miller has been going great guns for Gujarat Titans. Against Punjab, it was a rare failure for him scoring 11 of 14 balls and that too without a boundary. He will retain his usual number five spot in the playing XI. Miller has scored 287 runs in the first 10 games for Gujarat.

Like Miller, Tewatia also seemed to struggle to time the ball. He was dismissed unfortunately as he tried to up the tempo in the final overs. However, the all-rounder will retain his number six position in the XI. Tewatia has won Gujarat at least three to four matches this season.

Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan will slot in at number seven in the playing XI. Besides taking nine wickets with the ball, he has scored 71 runs with the bat which includes a match-winning 40 against CSK.

Pradeep Sangwan / Yash Dayal

Sangwan did not complete his quota of overs as he gave away 23 runs from just two. He also seemed to struggle with the ball hitting the good length. Fellow left-armer Yash Dayal can be given a chance in place of the veteran pacer. He has bowled well in the limited opportunities given to him.

Lockie Ferguson

Ferguson has taken 11 wickets so far in IPL 2022. He is also up there with his pace having bowled one of the quickest deliveries this season. Ferguson will be one of the three pacers in the four pacers in this playing XI.

Alzarri Joseph

Joseph will be the second overseas pacer in this playing XI. Alongside Ferguson and Shami he has bowled with pace and unsettled batsmen. Though he has taken fewer wickets, he has been economical and taken control of the middle-overs.

Mohammed Shami

Shami concludes GT’s predicted playing XI against Mumbai Indians. He was a touch expensive against Punjab after Liam Livingstone took 28 off the final over of his spell. Overall, he has taken 15 wickets so far in IPL 2022.
