Mumbai Indians face off against Gujarat Titans in match 51 of IPL 2022 at the Brabourne stadium on April 6. The side has already been eliminated from the tournament after losing 8 back to back games. They won their previous game against Rajasthan Royals. Mumbai and Gujarat are facing off for the very first time in this IPL season.

Mumbai Indians came back to winning ways in their last game. According to skipper Rohit Sharma, the team played their best cricket in that game. However, the win came a bit late for them in the tournament. Now they have a side to Test their bench strength and rest a few senior players on the side. They can look to experiment by giving a few new players a chance to prove their potential. In this article, we try and predict the playing XI of Mumbai Indians against Gujarat Titans.

Kishan has failed to live up to the expectations after he was the most expensive player of the IPL 2022 auction. He scored a good-looking 26 but failed to kick on. He will look to end his season on a high.

SKY has proved his consistency once again for Mumbai Indians at the top of the order. He has scored 290 runs from seven games so far in the season.

The 19-year-old playing his first season is the leading run-scorer for Mumbai Indians. This just proves that the batters for MI this season has not stepped up. SKY said Tilak is the future of this franchise. He has scored 307 runs in nine games so far.

Kieron Pollard

Pollard has failed to get going this season. He scored 10 off 14 in the last game against RR. He has been a constant feature in the Mumbai playing XI and will continue to be so.

Tim David scored 20 off 10 balls and alongside Daniel Sams saw his team through against Rajasthan Royals. It seems like he will be given a place in the playing XI in the remaining games.

Sams hit the winning runs for Mumbai Indians hitting a six off the very first ball he faced. He has had his struggles in the season so far but came good in the last match. Mumbai will not look to break his combination in the middle order.

Hrithik Shokeen

Shokeen has impressed one and all with his accurate off-spin. He will be the first spinner in the playing XI. Mumbai has done well to back him and give him crucial games.

Kumar Kartikeya

The left-arm spinner was slotted into the team and given his first game in the last match. He picked up a wicket on his debut game and went for just. Together Kartikeya and Shokken can form a god combination for Mumbai Indians in the future.

Jasprit Bumrah / Basil Thampi

The management can look to give Bumrah a break since they are already out of the tournament. Basil Thampi or Jaydev Unadkat can play in his place in the remaining games. The lead pacer has really struggled this season in all phases of the game picking just five wickets. Against RR, he went wicketless.

Riley Meredith
