GT vs RR: Mentality Of Playing Big Matches Will Help Hardik Pandya - Parthiv Patel Confident About GT's Chances In Qualifier 1

Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel asserted that Gujarat Titans (GT) will have a great chance in Qualifier 1 against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) as their skipper, Hardik Pandya, has played in big matches before and will be confident in his shot-calling.
Gujarat finished the league stage on the top of the points table with 10 wins in 14 matches. They were the first team to qualify for the playoff stage and are one of the most well-rounded teams on paper.
Despite being in tough situations during most of their matches, GT has found multiple match-winners. The batting lineup has fired in unison with Hardik himself leading the charts and the bowling attack is as potent as ever with Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan among the ranks.
“The mentality of playing big matches before will help Hardik Pandya here. It means that he has taken decisions under pressure that is not easy to make. He will go into the match confidently, there is no doubt about it,” Parthiv was quoted as saying to Cricbuzz.

Ahead of the crucial game, GT might have to make a change in their playing XI after Wriddhiman Saha sustained a hamstring injury in their game against RCB. Matthew Wade had picked up the gloves in that game for Gujarat.
“If there are concerns surrounding Saha, then an Indian batter has to be brought in. The likely option is Sai Sudarshan. If Saha is fit, then Alzarri Joseph could also be brought in for Matthew Wade.”
“The changes will most likely be tactical. A lot relies on Saha’s fitness. If there is even the slightest chance that Saha can play, then he should at any cost,” Parthiv further mentioned.
GT will meet Rajasthan in Qualifier 1 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 24.
