IPL 2022: 3 Most Memorable Encounters Of The Season For Rajasthan Royals (RR)

RR vs KKR (April 18, Mumbai)

Rajasthan Royals beat Kolkata Knight Riders by seven runs and moved to second position in the points table. Thanks to the lethal combination of Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal for their top-notch performance in the game.

Buttler’s splendorous 61-ball 103 comprising nine fours and five sixes, striking at 168.55 powered Royals to a praiseworthy 217/5.

Aaron Finch and captain Shreyas Iyer were right on the mission through their 107-run stand. Finch holed out to Karun Nair at third man off Prasidh Krishna’s bowling in the ninth over.

After Finch’s dismissal, Rajasthan Royals turned the shape of the match as from 107/1 at one stage, KKR slipped to 180/8 at the end of the 17th over, courtesy- of Chahal’s excellence with the ball.

The RR leg-spinner claimed four wickets in his final over including a hat-trick to finish with 5/40, his maiden five-wicket haul in the IPL.

Rajasthan won the game by seven runs despite Umesh Yadav’s late counter-attacking shots threatening to take away the game.

RCB vs RR (April 26, Pune)

Rajasthan Royals youngster Riyan Parag scored a brisk half-century (56 in 31 balls) to power his team to a moderate score of 144/8, which proved to be substantial in the hindsight of the match.

RR bowlers Kuldeep Sen (4/20) and Ravichandran Ashwin (3/17) perfectly executed their plans to dismantle RCB’ batting unit in a chase of a moderate target.

LSG vs RR (May 15, Mumbai)

Rajasthan Royals climbed to the second spot on the table after thumping KL Rahul & co in a 24-run win in the final games of the league stage.

Royals posted 178/6 based on the collective efforts of Yashasvi Jaiswal (41), Devdutt Padikkal (39), and Sanju Samson (32). The bowlers put on some strenuous efforts to keep LSG at bay.
