And to further strengthen the side, they managed to buy the services of Ishan Kishan, Jofra Archer, Daniel Sams, Tim David at the auction.

1. Rohit Sharma

He is the most successful captain in the history of the Indian Premier League. He has led MI to five IPL titles. However, his numbers with the bat in the last few years hasn’t inspired a lot of confidence. In the last five seasons, the MI captain has managed to cross 400 runs only once in 2019.

Since being appointed as the full-captain of the Indian Cricket Team, Rohit Sharma has had a great time both with the bat and as a captain. He would be brimming with confidence and we might see him wreaking havoc with the bat in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.

2. Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan wasn’t retained by MI for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. Fans presumed that Kishan would play for a different franchise this year. However, the Mumbai Indians went all out to buy his services at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. MI bought him for a whopping amount of INR 15.25 crores.

Ishan Kishan will open the batting with Rohit Sharma this year. He didn’t have a great season with the bat last year. However, it’s also true that you can’t keep a player like him quit for too long. Ishan Kishan has loads of talents and the IPL 2022 season could be his best season with the bat.

3. Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav was retained ahead of Ishan Kishan for IPL 2022. MI has put faith in his abilities and looked at him as their asset for at least the next 3-4 years. Suryakumar Yadav has been in the form of his life. He has been living up to all the expectations.

So far, he has played 14 T20 internationals for India and has managed to score 351 runs at an outstanding average and strike rate of 39 and 165.6. It shouldn’t come as a surprise if he takes the orange cap at the end of the IPL 2022.
