Royal Challengers Bangalore face off against Punjab Kings in the IPL 2022 opener on March 27 in the second of the two games on that day RCB are placed in group B along with CSK, SRH, PBKS and Gujarat Titans. The franchise has never won the IPL so far and will once again venture on the journey in IPL 2022.
The BCCI added two new franchises Lucknow and Gujarat into the IPL fond as its horizon as expanded all the more. The season will see a total of 74 matches in 65 days across four venues in Maharasthra. In all, 20 matches each will be held at Wankhede Stadium & DY Patil Stadium, 15 matches each at Brabourne and MCA International Stadium, Pune. The final will be played on May 29. Harshal Patel
Harshal Patel won the Purple Cap in IPL 2021 with 32 wickets to his name. He is joint-second in the list of most wickets for a season. Harshal’s IPL success paved the path for his international debut. In the few matches that he has played, the Indian pacer has proved his potential. RCB would ideally hope that he replicates his performance and help them win their maiden IPL title.

Josh Hazlewood
RCB won the bidding war against CSK for the Australian pacer. Hazlewood has added more pace and potency to the RCB attack along with the presence of Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel. Hazlewood is yet to produce his best in the IPL and Bengalore would hope that this is the season for him.
Mohammed Siraj
Siraj was one the three players RCB retained ahead of the mega auction. Siraj is now a regular in the Indian Test squad and has played a handful of white-ball games as well. He is expected to play all the matches which gives him a good chance to be in the Purple Cap list.
