Rishabh Pant’s technique of dismissal in the IPL 2022 match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Friday, according to Aakash Chopra, is seriously concerning.
Pant smashed 44 runs off 24 deliveries, including four fours and two sixes. Despite failing to cling on to a difficult catch from Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal was superbly grabbed by Devdutt Padikkal in the same over for hitting another airy-fairy shot.

In response to Pant’s dismissal, Aakash Chopra said:
“Rishabh Pant was in excellent form. I’m a little concerned about the way he got away. He’d lived practically half a life before that, and another one before that. He was putting himself in perilous situations.”
“You could have won this match if he had lasted until the end, even if you lost by 15 runs. Rishabh Pant, this could have been your game.”
Pant should have displayed a little more control, according to Aakash Chopra. Chopra remarked:
“A huge knock is still on the way. Another time went up in the air – Devdutt Padikkal made a great catch, but it was a touch underwhelming. Rishabh Pant seemed to me to be the player who would take this match to the next level.”
Aakash Chopra on the impressive start of the Delhi Capitals:
David Warner and Prithvi Shaw got them off to a fast start, according to Aakash Chopra. He went on to say:
“Delhi got off to a fantastic start. They got to 207 in the finish, but David Warner and Prithvi Shaw are at the beginning. You argue the law of statistics will get them at some point, but I stated no one is accepting the name of getting out because of how they began.”

‘Prasidh Krishna made an unusual dismissal of Warner. Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Prithvi Shaw, and it was a superb wicket.”

“Lalit Yadav was excellent at the plate. But there was still something I didn’t get. Rovman Powell is a pure hitter who you purchased for a great deal of money from a foreign team. If you think he can’t bat, don’t pick him. You were quite tardy in sending him. He got you so close, and I thought DC had won the big one on you.”
Delhi Capitals has only three victories in seven games and is currently sixth in the rankings.
