IPL 2022: " Always Wanted To Play Under MS Dhoni"- Devon Conway

MS Dhoni had a good start to his IPL 2022 season as he scored an unbeaten fifty in CSK’s opening game against KKR. However, his effort was not enough to see his side home in the first game. This is most probably Dhoni’s last IPL season and he has already handed over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja.
Devon Conway, the Kiwi opener who was drafted by CSK in the mega auction, in a conversation spoke about his admiration for the former CSK skipper. In a video posted by CSK’s official Twitter handle, Conway is heard speaking about MS Dhoni and his legacy as Chennai Super Kings skipper.

“I was wanting to play under the great MS as captain. I had a nice little conversation with him. I said, ‘you’re sure you don’t want to captain one more season so I can play under you as captain?’ But he said, ‘no, but I am always going to be around anyways. It was really cool” Conway said.
The Kiwi opener further spoke about how he got to know Dhoni and Jadeja by having dinner together. He also termed Dhoni as the best captain in IPL history.

“A couple of days ago I had lunch and sat in between MS and Jaddu (Ravindra Jadeja). It was really cool just to get to know them better” said the southpaw.
Devon Conway scored just three off eight balls in his debut for CSK against KKR. The side faces Lucknow Supergiants in their next game on Thursday at the Brabourne stadium. With Moeen Ali available for selection, it will be interesting to see whether Conway gets another game in this IPL.
CSK are placed in group A alongside RCB, SRH, PBKS and the newcomers Gujarat Lions. They are currently placed seventh in the points table with every team having played one game each in the season so far.
