The Board of Cricket for Control in India has locked in 12th and 13th February as the dates to organize the much-awaited Mega Auctions 2022. All the eight existing franchise have already named their list of retained players, while the two franchises have also made the pre-auction picks.
A total of 33 players have already been picked by the franchises. The rest of the cricketers, who were part of the different franchises till last year, will find themselves at the mega auctions. Add to that, some of the new players, who have made headlines in the recent past, will also be going under the hammer.
For the unversed, a total of 1214 players have registered their names for the auction and it will be interesting to see how many players will BCCI shortlist out of them. As far as overseas players are concerned, a total of 318 overseas players have signed up for the auctions, which are further divided into different base price categories.
The top talents have registered themselves in the top bracket of INR 2 crore. Some of them who aren’t in form and aren’t T20 specialists have put themselves in the 1 crore bracket.
Given that there are 10 franchises are playing from the next edition, a lot of those players are likely to find buyers. However, still, there could be some of them who might not find any buyer. On that note, we take a look at 3 overseas players with a base price of INR 1 crore that might go unsold at the auctions.

Colin de Grandhomme

New Zealand all-rounder, Colin de Grandhomme is known for his big-hitting skills. On his day, he can tear apart any bowling attack in the world. However, as far as his recent form is concerned, the franchises might not show too much of an interest in him.
He is no more a regular member of New Zealand’s T20 team. The 35-year old wasn’t included in the New Zealand squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 as well. Colin de Gradhomme went unsold in the last two editions and he is likely to find no takers for the upcoming edition as well.
