Mayank Agarwal is the first player that the franchise has retained for IPL 2022. The right-handed batsman has finalized a deal of Rs. 12 crore. Agarwal scored 441 runs in 12 matches in the last season at an average of 4.09. He also slammed 4 half-centuries for the team.

Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh is another player that the franchise has retained for the next season, offering him Rs. 4 crore. He picked 18 wickets in 12 games in the last season at an average of 19.0. He was the 2nd highest wicket-taker for the team.

Devdutt Padikkal

Punjab Kings have lost opener KL Rahul and now they will need a new opener. Devdutt Padikkal will be a good option for the same. Devdutt Padikkal was part of Royal Challengers Bangalore but the franchise did not retain him for the next season. The left-handed batsman scored 411 runs in 14 games in the last season with 1 century.

Eoin Morgan

Eoin Morgan can be the middle-order batsman that Punjab Kings can go for. Moreover, Morgan can also lead the team as he has good experience as a skipper of Kolkata Knight Riders. In IPL 2021, he scored 133 runs in 16 innings and largely failed to come up with good knocks. However, he did a brilliant job as a skipper, taking KKR to the final.

Mahipal Lomror

Mahipal Lomror might be another middle-order batsman that Punjab Kings pick in the squad during IPL 2022 auction. He was part of the Rajasthan Royals in the last season. He scored 94 runs in 3 games at an average of 31.33.

Manan Vohra

Manan Vohra can be another middle-order batsman that the franchise can pick for the next season. He played 4 matches for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021, scoring 41 runs. If he is given more opportunities, he can be a useful batsman for the team.

Deepak Chahar

Punjab Kings did not retain Mohammed Shami in their squad in spite of two vacant spots for retentions. Hence, it does not seem like they will go for Shami in the next season. The franchise might target Deepak Chahar, who was released by Chennai Super Kings. In IPL 2021, Chahar picked 14 wickets in 15 games at an average of 32.21.
