The ten franchises spent a total of INR 551 crores to buy the services of all those players and did their best to compile world-class squads for the upcoming edition of the tournament. Much like previous auctions, the Indian spinners were in high demand at the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions.

India as a cricketing nation never had a dearth of spinners and the franchises, thus, managed to buy quality Indian spinners at the mega event. In this article, we rate the four best buys of the capped Indian spinners at the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions.

India’s best spinner in white-ball cricket right now, Yuzvendra Chahal was available at the Mega Auctions 2022. RCB, surprisingly, didn’t retain him for the next edition of the tournament and it could affect their performances in the upcoming auctions. Rajasthan Royals would be delighted to have picked Yuzvendra Chahal for a bargain price of INR 6.5 crores.

Chahal is, currently, one of the best spinners in world cricket right now and he is likely to make a significant impact with the ball in IPL 2022. The inclusion of Yuzvendra Chahal should strengthen RR’s bowling attack.

  1. Ravichandran Ashwin (9/10)

Along with Yuzvendra Chahal, Rajasthan Royals have managed to buy the services of Ravichandran Ashwin as well. Rajasthan Royals were involved in a bidding war with Delhi Capitals for Ravichandran Ashwin and, eventually, managed to buy him for a prize of INR 5 crores.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s experience should keep the team in good stead. He will bowl in tandem with Yuzvendra Chahal and keep the run-flow in check in the middle-overs.

  1. Rahul Chahar (9/10)

Rahul Chahar was outstanding in the first leg of IPL 2022 for Mumbai Indians. He was one of the bright spots for the team during the first half of that edition. Impressive performances also helped him get included in India’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Chahar, however, suffered an injury and hasn’t played an international game, since.

Having made his debut in IPL in 2017, Rahul Chahar has come a long way. He is currently one of the best spinners in Indian cricket right now and is expected to play a big role with the ball in the upcoming edition of the IPL. Punjab Kings would be delighted to have him in the team after paying 5.25 crores.

  1. Kuldeep Yadav: 8/10

Kuldeep Yadav fared badly in the last edition of the IPL. He played five matches and could only pick a single wicket. Delhi Capitals have put their faith in his abilities ahead of the upcoming edition of the tournament. He has been bought for a sum of INR 2 crores.
