IPL 2022 will be a 10-team event with Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Supergiants added into the IPL fold. The season will get bigger and better as the BCCI has finally widened the horizon of the IPL. The 15th season kicks off March 26 with CSK taking on KKR in the first game in Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium.
Previously the BCCI divided the 10 teams into two groups of five teams each. Group A has teams like KKR, MI, RR, DC and the newcomers Lucknow. Group B includes CSK, RCB, PBKS and the other newcomer Gujarat Titans.
The IPL 2022 will be a 10-team affair with 74 matches to be played across four venues in Maharashtra in just above two months. Wankhede and DY Patil Stadium will host 20 matches each while the Brabourne stadium in Mumbai and MCA Stadium in Pune will play hosts to 15 games each. Meanwhile, in this article, we take a look at batsmen with most runs against each team in the IPL ahead of IPL 2022.
IPL 2022: Batsmen With Most Runs Against Each Team In IPL
Rohit Sharma -1015 vs KKR, Average- 46.13
Rohit is the only batsman to score more than 1000 runs against one particular franchise in the IPL. He has so far scored 1015 runs against the two-time IPL champions including a century and six fifties in 29 matches against the side till date. He also has his highest IPL score against Kolkata. Incidentally, KKR also has the worst record against Mumbai Indians in the IPL with just six wins so far in 14 seasons.
Virat Kohli -948 vs CSK, Average 41.21
RCB fs CSK rivalry has been one of the most riveting rivalries in the IPL. Led by Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, the match remains amongst the most-watched ones by Indian cricket fans. Over the years, Kohli has been the most successful against CSK scoring 948 runs. In 28 matches against the Men in Yellow, he has had 9 fifty-plus scores, his most against any particular team in the IPL.

David Warner -945 vs PBKS, Average 49.73
Punjab Kings have been one of Warner’s favourite oppositions in the IPL. He has scored 948 runs against them with 11 fifties against the team. Against no other team has the southpaw has scored more fifty-plus scores in the IPL. Overall, Warner has 5449 runs in the IPL from 150 IPL games. He will be turning up for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022.
Virat Kohli – 913 vs DC, Average 53.10
Delhi Capitals is another of Kohli’s favourite opponents in the IPL. So far he has scored 913 runs against the franchise with an average of over 50. In fact, he has this is his best average amongst the 8 current existing teams in the IPL. He has eighth fifty-plus scores against them with a best of 99. This season, he has a chance to get to 1000 runs against CSK and Delhi.
MS Dhoni -836 Runs vs RCB, Average 41.80
MS Dhoni might have lost a bit of his touch with the bat in the last two IPL seasons but he has 836 runs against RCB in the IPL, his most against any particular team. The former Indian skipper has four fifty-plus scores against Virat Kohli’s team. IPL 2022 is likely to be Dhoni’s last season in the IPL.
Suresh Raina – 824 vs MI, Average 29.42
Fondly known as Mr IPL, Suresh Raina has scored the most runs against Mumbai Indians in his IPL career. He has scored 824 runs with eighth fifty-plus scores against the five-time IPL champions. His average though is a bit on the lower side. The southpaw went unsold at the IPL 2022 auctions which became the talking points in the auction.
AB de Villiers – 652 vs RR, Average 46.57
De Villiers has scored the most runs against Rajasthan Royals. The most by any player against the Royals in the IPL. His numbers are staggering. He has scored 652 runs against the Royals at an average of nearly 50 with eighth fifty-plus scores. ABD will not be aq part of IPL 2022 having retired from the league post IPL 2021.
Sanju Samson – 615 Runs vs SRH, Average 43.92
Sanju Samson has scored 615 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the most by any player against the side. He has scored these runs at a fair clip with a fifty and a century to his name. He will be leading the Royals in IPL 2022 for the second successive year and looking to change the fortunes of the side.
