IPL 2022 emerged as another interesting season in the history of the Indian Premier League. A total of 10 teams played a total of 74 matches among themselves. In the final, Gujrat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets. Gujarat Titans comfortably chased down the 131-run target set by RR in the first innings.

While there were many batsmen and bowlers who came up with incredible performances in the season, there we also some who failed to showcase their magic. Due to their poor performances, they became a liability for their teams and some also got dropped from the playing XI. Here we talk about the  XI of the IPL 2022 tournament.

Kane Williamson is the opener of this list. Williamson was the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2022. The right-handed batsman scored just 216 runs in 13 games at an average of 19.54. He hit just 1 fifty. His strike rate of 93.50 was too miserable. He highly failed to smash runs as an opener.

Venkatesh Iyer is another opener in the list of flop XI of IPL 2022. While the left-handed batsman had a wonderful season last year, he largely failed this season as an opener. In 12 games, he scored just 182 runs at an average of 16.55. He was also dropped from some games due to his poor show. He held a strike rate of just 107+ and hit just 1 fifty in 12 games.

Vijay Shankar is the no.3 batsman on this list. Shankar, who was part of Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022, played 4 games for the team. He scored just 19 runs at an average of 4.75. His strike rate was even poorer and read 54.28. His top score was just 13 runs which means he scored just 6 runs in 3 other games.

Manish Pandey

Manish Pandey is one of the middle-order batsmen on this list. The right-handed batsman was part of Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022. In 6 games, he scored just 88 runs at an average of 14.67. He had a strike rate of 110.0. His top knock was 38 runs. Due to his continuous poor show, the team dropped him in the latter half of the tournament.

Kieron Pollard is another player on this list. Pollard, who was retained by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022, highly failed to showcase his all-round strength. The right-handed batsman scored just 144 runs in 11 games at an average of 14.40. While he is known for hitting big shots, this season he registered a strike rate of just 107.46. With the ball, the former West Indies skipper picked 4 wickets in 6 innings.

Matthew Wade is the wicketkeeper in the list of flop XI of IPL 2022. Playing for Gujarat Titans in the season, the Australian player scored 157 runs in 10 innings at an average of just 15..70. While most of the GT batsmen managed to gain the limelight, Wade continuously failed to emerge as a good wicket-keeper batsman. He owned a strike rate of 113.76.

Ravindra Jadeja is the captain of this list. Jadeja, who was a star performer in the last season, came out with a very poorer one in IPL 2022. Jadeja was nominated as the CSK skipper in the tournament. However, after the team’s poor performance under his captaincy, he stepped down as the skipper midway. In 10 games, the left-handed batsman scored 116 runs at an average of 19.33 and a strike rate of 118.36. With the ball, he scalped only 5 wickets in 10 games at an average of 49.60.

Varun Chakravarthy

Varun Chakravarthy is the spinner in the list of flop XI of IPL 2022. The right-arm spinner was part of Kolkata Knight Riders in the tournament and one of the retained players. In 11 games, he picked 6 wickets at an average of 55.33. He also bowled at an expensive economy of 8.51.

Sandeep Sharma is one of the pacers on this list. The right-arm pacer played 5 games and picked only 2 wickets. Sharma was part of Punjab Kings. He held an average of 76.50. His economy was a little better at 7.65. However, he largely failed to get wickets in the 5 games he played.

Chris Jordan

Chris Jordan is another pacer on this list. The England pacer was part of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022. The right-arm pacer picked only 2 wickets in 4 games at a poor average of 67.50. He was highly expensive at his economy rate of 10.51. Out of 4 games, he managed to pick wickets in only 1 game and remained wicketless in 3 matches.

Andrew Tye is another pacer in the list of flop XI of IPL 2022. The right-arm pacer was a member of Lucknow Super Giants in the season. He managed to get 2 wickets in 3 games. Later, the team dropped him from other games. The Australian pacer held an average of 53.50 and an expensive economy rate of 9.72.
