IPL 2022: Gujarat Titans (GT) Predicted Playing XI For Their First Match Of The Season

Gujarat Titans is a new team in IPL 2022 and is all set to play their debut season. The franchise picked 20 players during IPL auction 2022. For Gujarat, Lockie Ferguson was the costliest deal at Rs. 10 crores. Some other costly players that Gujarat Titans grabbed during the auction are Mohammed Shami (6.25 crores), Rahul Tewatia (9 crores), David Miller (3 crores), and Matthew Wade (2.4 crores).

Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill will open the innings for Gujarat Titans in the opening game of IPL 2022. The franchise picked him as one of three draft players for Rs. 8 crores. Gill is a powerful opening batter. Last season, he slammed 478 runs in 17 games for Kolkata Knight Riders, finishing as the top run-getter for the team.

Jason Roy

Jason Roy will be another opener that Gujarat Titans can pick in the opening game. The team picked him for Rs. 2 crores during IPL auction 2022. Making a late entry into Sunrisers Hyderabad last season, the England player slammed 150 runs in 5 games at an average of 30.0. He also played a match-winning knock of 60 in one game.

Vijay Shankar

Vijay Shankar will be another batsman in the middle-order for the team. Gujarat picked him for Rs. 1.4 crores during IPL auction 2022. Last year, he was part of Sunrisers Hyderabad and scored 58 runs in 7 games. Overall, he has scored 712 runs in 47 IPL matches at an average of 26.67.

Hardik Pandya will be the skipper of the team in the opening clash of IPL 2022. Pandya was picked as a draft player for Rs. 15 crores. He was part of Mumbai Indians last season. The right-handed batsman has a long experience in IPL.

Wriddhiman Saha (WK)

Wriddhiman Saha might be the wicketkeeper for the team. Gujarat Titans finalized Saha for Rs. 1.9 crores during the auction. Last season, he was part of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Playing 9 games, he scored 131 runs at an average of 14.55.

Rahul Tewatia

Rahul Tewatia might be the all-rounder that the team will pick in the opening game of IPL 2022. Gujarat Titans spent Rs. 9 crores to pick the all-rounder in their squad during the auction. Hence, they will be eager to play him in the tournament. Last season, Tewatia slammed 155 runs in 14 games and picked 8 wickets for Rajasthan Royals.

Lockie Ferguson might be another pacer that Gujarat Titans can pick in the opening game. The team picked the New Zealand pacer for Rs. 10 crores during IPL auction 2022. Ferguson was part of KKR in the last season. Playing 8 games, he scalped 13 wickets for the team at an average of 17.23.
