IPL 2022: "He Is A Great Guy And Brings Positive Vibes" : Rashid Khan On Hardik Pandya

Rashid Khan will be playing for Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2022 after parting ways with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) after the IPL 2021 season. As per reports, the Afghan spinner decided to leave the franchise after SRH did not choose him as their first choice retention. Playing for SRH, he took 93 wickets between 2017-2021.

Raashid Khan will play under Hardik Pandya for the Titans. This is the first time, the Indian all-rounder is leading a team in any capacity in the IPL. Rashid, Hardik along with Shubman Gill were the first three draft picks for the Titans. Talking to Boria Majumdar on the show ‘Backstage With Boria’ the Afghanistan spinner shared his first thoughts on Hardik. Rashid spoke about his bond with Hardik over the years and also about him as a person.

“He is a very nice person. We haven’t played together before but with the friendship and bond we share, it still feels like we have been playing together for years now. He is a great guy and always brings in a positive vibe whenever we talk about my game and his mindset” said Rashid on Hardik.

Rashid also opened up on playing under the captaincy of Hardik for Gujarat Titans. He said that he will support the all-rounder in every possible capacity for his new franchise.

“He is the captain, it will be a great opportunity for me to learn as much as possible. I will also share my experiences of playing in different leagues. “He is a new captain and this is a new team so definitely there will be so many things going on around his mind,” Rashid Khan said.

Gujarat Titans will open their IPL 2022 campaign against fellow newcomers Lucknow Supergiants on March 28 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
