Former West Indies captain and Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder, Kieron Pollard, took to Twitter to call out cricketer-turned-pundit Aakash Chopra. However, after some time the West Indies all-rounder deleted his tweet about Chopra.
Former India opener Aakash Chopra has criticiSed Kieron Pollard on numerous occasions for his below-par performance for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 and many believe Pollard is unhappy with Chopra.
Pollard didn’t have a good run in the Indian Premier League 2022 as in 11 games he only scored 144 runs at an average of 14.40. Also, Mumbai Indians struggled in the IPL 2022 and they finished at the bottom of the table.
“Hope the fan base and followers increased @cricketaakash… keep it flowing .. #t20.!!” said Pollard in the deleted tweet.
I think we have seen the last of Kieron Pollard – Aakash Chopra
Previously, in a video shared on his YouTube channel, Chopra said that the Mumbai Indians might release Pollard, who was retained by the franchise for INR 6 crore ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.
“I think we have seen the last of Kieron Pollard. ₹6 crores will be released if they don’t retain him,” Chopra said.
In a video, Chopra also demanded Mumbai Indians to say “tata bye-bye to Pollard” and included another overseas player in the playing XI because Pollard was failing continuously with the bat.
“Kieron Pollard should go and Dewald Brevis should come in. How many chances would you give to Pollard? He has just not been scoring runs. His bowling could be useful on this surface but you wouldn’t pick him in the team for his bowling. So I think the time has come to say tata bye-bye to Pollard,” said Chopra.
