IPL 2022: Irfan Pathan Feels Umesh Yadav Has Everything In His Arsenal Right Now

IPL 2022: Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan feels Umesh Yadav has every arsenal in his armour right now.

Umesh Yadav is the leading wicket-taker for Kolkata Knight Riders with 10 wickets in 10 games. He is also 2nd on the list of the purple cap.

Umesh Yadav Has A Prove To Point: Irfan Pathan

Umesh Yadav has bowled brilliantly in the powerplay for KKR and has given them way breakthroughs. This is one of the reasons for KKR doing well in the ongoing season of the IPL.

While speaking on Cricket Live on Star Sports, Irfan Pathan said, “Umesh is bowling very well right now. He has outswing, he is bowling inswingers and is in fine rhythm. He went unsold on Day 1 of auctions and then KKR added him to their squad at his base price. He must have been hurt, and that is why he is proving himself now. He is putting up a show for KKR who showed faith in him.”

Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh had similar views.

“The way Umesh has performed in this season is unbelievable, he seems to be in form of his life. The team management did not give him a big role at the start of the season because no one had an idea about his true potential. But now he is showcasing his talent and showing what he is capable of,” Harbhajan added.

Umesh Yadav didn’t play much in the IPL in the last two seasons. After having started his career with Delhi Daredevils he also played for Kolkata Knight Riders before, then moved to Royal Challengers Bangalore and then back to Delhi Capitals.

His best years in IPL were in 2017 and 2018 when he picked up wickets early in the powerplay for RCB.

KKR will next face Sunrisers Hyderabad and they would hope that Umesh Yadav is at his best against them.
