IPL 2022: Prithvi Shaw Discharged From Hospital, Continues Recovery At The DC Team Hotel
Delhi Capitals (DC) opener Prithvi Shaw has been discharged from the hospital after being admitted due to typhoid, the franchise confirmed on its social media account early morning on Sunday.
Shaw played nine matches for DC in the IPL 2022 season before he fell ill. He was diagnosed with typhoid and his recovery process began soon after. Fortunately, Shaw’s recovery is going well, with the youngster now returning to the team hotel.
“Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw has been discharged from the hospital where he was being treated for a bout of typhoid. Shaw has returned to the team hotel where he is currently recuperating, while being monitored by the DC medical team,” DC wrote on Twitter.
The 22-year-old scored 259 runs in 9 matches at an average of 28.78. His strike rate of 159.88 was impressive and he formed a deadly opening partnership at the top with the in-form David Warner.

“It’s not looking great for him” – Shane Watson had expressed concern for Prithvi Shaw
DC assistant coach Shane Watson was distraught after learning of Shaw’s illness and was doubtful about Shaw’s return to the side ahead of crucial matches for the DC franchise.
“It’s not looking great. I don’t know exactly his diagnosis but he’s had this underlying fever for the last two weeks now which they have to really get to the bottom of to find out exactly what it was. I don’t know exactly what the diagnosis is but it’s not looking great for him to be available for us for the last few games,” Watson had told The Grade Cricketer podcast last week.
Delhi currently has 6 wins and 6 losses in 12 matches and has a great shot at making the playoffs if they win their final two matches of the league.
