IPL 2022: Rahul Tripathi Is Ready To Play For India: Tom Moody
Rahul Tripathi has been in fantastic touch in IPL 2022. He has scored 3 50s in the tournament so far with an impressive strike rate.
He has been the real intent merchant for Sunrisers Hyderabad as the more seasoned Kane Williamson has struggled throughout the season.
Rahul Tripathi Has been Impressive This Year: Tom Moody
SunRisers Hyderabad head coach Tom Moody believes that Rahul Tripathi is fit to play for India after his match-winning 76 off 44 deliveries against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday. After being put in to bat by Rohit Sharma, Tripathi’s blinder helped SRH to 193/6.
Umran Malik’s three-wicket haul and some brilliant death overs bowling subsequently enabled them to restrict MI to 190/7 for a three-run win and preserve their modest hopes of making the IPL 2022 playoffs alive.
“He’s been ultra-impressive this year. We were obviously very keen to get him in the auction because we recognised his value and how dynamic a player he is. And tonight’s innings is another example of his class and his ability on all surfaces against all types of bowlers,” Moody said in the post-match press conference.
“Is he ready? Of course, he’s ready. I’m sure that given an opportunity in any role really because he’s quite versatile as a player, he’ll grab it with both hands and won’t let you down,” he further added.
Since his IPL debut in 2017, Tripathi has been a valuable addition to teams, filling a variety of roles and doing so with ease.
The 31-year-old has scored 1778 runs at a strike rate of 141.22 in 75 IPL appearances. He has three half-centuries and 393 runs with a strike rate of 161.73 so far this season.
He would be hoping to earn a call up to the Indian team for the T20 series against South Africa or Ireland in the next month.
