Former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri praised Hetmyer after the RR beat the SRH, saying that the West Indian might emerge into a “360-degree” player.
On Tuesday, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) put on a display against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their first game of the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL 2022).

The Royals blasted to the top of the standings after all teams played one game per in the current season, thanks to a 61-run triumph by Sanju Samson’s side over an unimpressive SRH.
The Royals are conveniently situated at the top of the table with a Net Run Rate (NRR) of +3.050, with an NRR differential of +2.316 over the second-placed Delhi Capitals.
After being allowed to bat first, the RR went on a tremendous batting display, scoring 210/6 in 20 overs. With captain Sanju Samson smashed 55 off just 27 balls, Shimron Hetmyer of the West Indies was just not much behind in terms of power-hitting. With two fours and three sixes in only 13 pitches, the left-handed batter scored 32 runs.

Ravi Shastri admired Hetmyer and said that he may develop into a “360-degree” player.
Hetmyer went to great length regarding his role on the club, indicating that he wants to keep his batting order open.

“I’m prepared to take on any role that the team requires of me.” It is critical to perform well as a member of the team. And at my end, I’ve always believed that if I simply give myself that chance to be out there, the performance would come, regardless of the game situation,” Hetmyer said.
Hetmyer was purchased by Rajasthan Royals for INR 8.5 crore in the IPL 2022 mega auction after formerly representing Delhi Capitals.
