IPL 2022: Ravi Shastri Hails Rohit Sharma For His Attitude And Intent In The Last Game

Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma seems to have found his feet in the IPL 2022 season and former Team India head coach, Ravi Shastri, expects the 35-year-old to start converting good beginnings into big scores in typical Rohit fashion.
Rohit played with excellent intent against the Gujarat Titans (GT) where he scored 43 in just 28 balls. Apart from that game, the experienced campaigner has also got starts in five other matches but hasn’t seen it materialize into anything significant.
That is the only thing that needs to change in his batsmanship, as per Shastri. Once he regains his knack of racking up the runs, there is no stopping Rohit.

“Absolutely. What I liked about Rohit in the last game was that his attitude and intent were brilliant from the start. It feels like he’s making 30s, 35s, and 40s, now it’s time to convert [the starts],” Shastri told in a conversation with ESPNcricinfo.
“They’ll want to finish with a bang” – Ravi Shastri on MI
Now that Mumbai is out of contention for a spot in the Playoff stage, they have pride to play for. Being the most successful team in the league, there is still a matter of self-esteem and MI will be keen to finish the season on a good note, as per Shastri.
“Mumbai Indians don’t have anything to play for in this tournament except pride. When a team has won the title five teams, they know that one or two such seasons can also come where nothing has worked for them. Rohit Sharma wasn’t in good form.”

“The top-order didn’t score as many runs as it should have. They’ll want to finish with a bang. [They should think] “We didn’t win or qualify but let’s play the last three to four games with heart and positivity, and win comfortably,” Shastri further added.
