Shreyas Iyer, the new captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, has urged the team to work together for the IPL.
The Kolkata Knight Riders will be led by Shreyas Iyer, who has purchased for Rs 12.25 crore in the IPL mega auction.
“As a team, we need to care for each other. (In a long tournament, there will be tough times, horrible times, and good times as well, so we need to support each other along the way,” he acknowledged during his first interaction with the public since emerging from quarantine on Monday. “Let’s build that formidable bond both on and off the field,” he said.

Shreyas advised his teammates to stay focused on the task at hand to order to form a well-knit unit. “We need to resist extraneous influences because it will be us on the ground who will be supporting each other at the end of the day,” he explained.
The centre-fielder voiced his faith in all of his teammates, noting that he sees “leadership traits in everyone.” “Each of you has become a match-winner in your own right – for KKR, for your international teams, and your domestic teams,” he said.
