When Shimron Hetmyer was playing for the Delhi Capitals, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif spent a lot of time with him. The 25-year-old has been chastised for his lack of fitness, but Kaif has stated that he didn’t give a damn about the opponent, which is what takes pride in the West Indies great.

Hetmyer has had a fantastic start to the IPL 2022 season, scoring 168 runs at an incredible average of 84 and a strike rate of 178.72 in four games. His composed 59-ball innings also helped the Rajasthan Royals (RR) win their previous match.

Mohammad Kaif related a funny story about himself and Shimron Hetmyer. He remembered:

“Hetmyer is a happy-go-lucky guy who is quite laid-back. Most hitters prepare for opposing bowlers, but Hetmyer is unconcerned. “That’s a waste of time,” he says, “let me eat my burger and pizza,” I asked him if he knew how to play Varun Chakravarthy, the mystery spinner. Varun, he asked. “However, he performed admirably in the game.”

Mohammad Kaif takes on Shimron Hetmyer against Rashid Khan:

The in-form Shimron Hetmyer and the world-class Rashid Khan, according to Mohammad Kaif, will be one of the most exciting player fights to watch out for in the game between the Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Hetmyer has proved this season that spinners don’t affect him because he can clear the ropes. Rashid Khan, according to the 41-year-old, suffers against left-handed pitchers, but he has enough class to keep a batter of Hetmyer’s stature quiet. Mohammad Kaif had this to say about it:

“Hetmyer is a fantastic cricketer who knows how to knock sixes against the spin. Rashid is a quality bowler, but his record against left-handed batters isn’t terrific, and he can allow runs to slip through his fingers. He’ll probably throw googlies to Hetmyer, but he’s in good form and won Rajasthan’s last game. One has form, while the other has class, therefore it will be a duel to watch.”

On Thursday at 7.30 p.m., the Rajasthan Royals will encounter the Gujarat Titans.
