IPL 2022: Top 5 Batters With The Most 50s This Season

The IPL 2022 season has crossed the halfway mark with the two new teams doing very well in the season. Gujarat Titans are currently leading the points table with 12 points while SRH, RR, RCB and LSG all with 10 points. The two most successful teams of the IPL, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians are the two bottom-ranked teams at the moment.

Mumbai Indians having lost eight games will not be able to make it to the playoffs. CSK with six losses are also struggling as is KKR who have lost four matches on the trot and are placed on the seventh position at the moment.

The cricket played so far in the season has been absolutely fabulous. The contest has been even between bat and ball. There has been some good batsmanship from one end while some good bowling from the other. Meanwhile, in this article, we take a look at the top 5 batters with most fifties in IPL 2022 so far.

Warner tops the list of most fifties with three half-centuries to his name so far. He has scored 219 runs from five matches as he missed the first couple of games for the Delhi Capitals. He has scored three consecutive fifties with 61 against KKR, 66 against RCB, and 60 * against Punjab Kings. He has scored these runs at an average of 54.75.

Hardik Pandya – Runs – 287, Fifties -3, HS -87*

Hardik Pandya has returned to complete match fitness and his consistent performances have been a great sign for the Indian cricket team. He has led Gujarat Titans fabulously so far in IPL 2022 and has played his part in helping them stay within the top four. Hardik has also promoted himself to number three and four in the batting order and taken more responsibility as a skipper.

That resulted in him scoring three fifties so far in the season with the best of an unbeaten 87 against Rajasthan Royals. He also scored three consecutive fifties at an average of 73.75 and a strike rate touching nearly 140.

Liam Livingstone – Runs – 245, Fifties – 3, HS -64

Liam Livingstone has finally got a chance to play his first full season with Punjab Kings this season. He was roped in for a whopping 11.50 Cr in the mega auction. So far he has performed well enough for the side scoring three fifties and nearly 250 runs in the first half of the season.

He scored 60 against CSK, 64 against Gujarat Titans, and 60 against SRH and has been striking at nearly 190. Apart from these three fifties, he has played timely cameos as well for Punjab Kings.

Aiden Markram – Runs – 190, Fifties – 2, HS – 68*

Aiden Markram scored an unbeaten 57 in the very first game for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The side lost two matches on the bounce and have won their next seven to make a great comeback in the first half of the season. He then scored his career-best of unbeaten 68 against KKR as he anchored a chase with the side needing 176 to win. He has averaged 47.80 so far and has been striking over 150.

Suryakumar Yadav – Runs- 239 , Fifties -2, HS-68*

SKY is the only Mumbai Indians batsman who has looked in some kind of form in IPL 2022. He has scored 239 runs from six games after missing the first two games of the season. He started his season with an unbeaten 52 against KKR. Though Mumbai lost the match, Surya showed his class in the match. He scored his second fifty against RCB in the very next game but that too turned out to be in a losing cause. Surya has been averaging 47.80 this season and striking at 151.26.
