The IPL 2022 thus far has been an absolute roller-coaster ride so far. The introduction of two new teams Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans has expanded the horizon of the tournament even wider. The batting, bowling and fielding on display has been top class and has set new standards.

The bowling especially has been refreshing with spinners topping the Purple Cap list for a change. Yuzvendra Chahal is leading the list with 18 wickets while Kuldeep Yadav is fourth on the list with 13 wickets.

Harshal Patel – Wickets 9, Maidens 2

The RCB pacer has had a slow start to IPL 2022. He also missed a few matches due to a family emergency. The pacer with his changeups has been brilliant in the death overs and has bowled two maidens and tops the list.

Prasidh Krishna – Wickets 9, Maidens 2

Krishna was a good acquisition by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 mega auction. So far he has bowled with pace and has bowled in every phase of the game as well. He has played all 8 matches for the Royals so far and has looked like a much-improved bowler.

Krishnappa Gowtham – Wickets 2, Maidens 1

Gowtham was one of the big buys for Lucknow Super Giants. However, he has not played as many games as he would have liked. In two matches for Lucknow, he has picked a couple of wickets and also bowled a maiden over. He bowled the maiden against Delhi Capitals in match 15 of IPL 2022.

Josh Hazlewood – Wickets 10, Maidens 1

The Australian pacer has been one of the success stories of Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022. So far this season, he has picked up 10 wickets including a four-fer. He has also bowled one maiden over this season so far against LSG.

Umesh Yadav – 11 Wickets, Maidens 1

Umesh Yadav has taken 11 wickets so far in IPL 2022. He also bowled a maiden over against Punjab Kings when he took 4/23. He has gone a bit cold in the last few games but still, cricket experts are backing him to be included in India’s T20 World Cup squad later this year.
