IPL 2022: Why Play Evin Lewis If You're Not Sending Him At No.3? - Aakash Chopra Questions LSG's Tactics After Eliminator Loss

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) tactical calls surprised former cricketer, Aakash Chopra, who questioned the inclusion of Evin Lewis if he wasn’t going to be batting up the order.
Lewis, being the destructive player he is, was severely under-utilized by the LSG team. He has been regularly pushed down the order despite being far more aggressive than any of the other LSG batters in the team. The move came back to bite the LSG team on Wednesday against RCB in the Eliminator.
“We had said that Quinton de Kock has an issue against this team. We thought he will get out to Josh but got out to Siraj. But after that at No. 3, surprise surprise comes Manan Vohra. Personally, I didn’t like that strategy at all. I was thinking, why not Evin Lewis? Why did you play Evin Lewis if you are not sending him at No. 3?”

Chopra also shed light on KL Rahul’s knock, which came under scrutiny after the 14-run loss. Chasing a huge target of 208, Rahul’s strike rate was barely over 100 most of the time and his 79-run knock did more harm than good for his team.
