IPL Auction 2022: 5 UP Players Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) Can Target

Lucknow Supergiants are one of the two new teams that have been drafted into the IPL. The franchise is owned by business tycoon Sanjeev Goenka who have picked KL Rahul (INR 17 crore), Marcus Stoinis (INR 9.2 crore), Ravi Bishnoi (INR 4 crore) as their draft picks ahead of the mega auction. Rahul will also lead the side in the IPL 2022.

The IPL 2022 will be a 10-team affair with a total of 74 games. This is a result of BCCI‘s constant effort to expand the reach of the league to different corners of the country. LSG has a purse remaining of 59 crores in which to fill up 22 remaining slots seven of which are overseas slots. There are a few experienced and young players from Uttar Pradesh as well who they might look to target.

Suresh Raina

Raina is popularly known as Mr IPL. He has been one of the most consistent run-getters in the tournament. Lucknow Supergiants making a new entry into the IPL would look to buy experienced players and Raina is one of the most experienced players in the league. He has played under the shadow of MS Dhoni and can help KL Rahul make important decisions on the pitch. Though he has lost some form in the last two years, a player of Raina’s experience is always an invaluable asset for any team.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

One key component of forming any team is a good group of Indian bowlers. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is another player in the IPL who has played several seasons and gathered enormous experience in the process. he can lead in what will be a new-look bowling attack. A bowler with Bhuvi’s experience will be paramount for Lucknow. The only thing which might go against him in the auction is his fitness. However, despite that with the season now being played with 10 teams, the bowler is expected to get a franchise.

Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep has found the going a bit tough n the IPL in the last few seasons. However, Lucknow can give him a new lease of life by roping him in. He is still a very good bowler. With Ravi Bishnoi, he can form a deadly combination and the two spinners can wreak havoc in the opposition batting lineup. He and Yuzvendra Chahal made fun of opposition batting lineups between 2017-2019. What Kuldep needs is a little bit of support and hopefully, he gets it from the Supergiants.

Shivam Mavi

Lucknow Supergiants can rope in the former India U-19 pacer. He can be a terrific addition to the bowling attack. He was groomed by Kolkata Knight Riders but then had to let him go due to the strict retention rules. With Lucknow looking for good Indian bowlers with pace, Mavi can be a terrific buy for the franchise.

Kartik Tyagi

Tyagi concludes the list of players Lucknow Supergiants can but at the IPL 2022 mega auction, Along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shivam Mavi, he can form a terrific trio of Indian pacers rich in quality and on pace. Tyagi and Mavi can be long-term investments for the franchise given this is the last of the mega auctions reportedly. The two bowlers along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar can take the team a long way forward.
