KKR vs MI: I'm Most Surprised By That Innings - Pat Cummins
Pat Cummins’s blinder of an innings took Kolkata Knight Riders to their 3rd of the season as they beat Mumbai Indians in Pune on the 14th March of the Indian Premier League.
Pat Cummins playing his first game of the season was in some serious mood when he came out to bat. The KKR innings was at a critical stage with the score being 101-5. They were chasing 162 runs. But as soon as Cummins came to the crease, things changed completely. The fall of wickets did not matter to Cummins at all. He just went there and played his shots.

Pat Cummins first hit Tymal Mills for a 6 and a 4 and then in the following overtook his fellow countryman Daniel Sams to the cleaners. He scored 56 runs in 15 balls, scoring his half-century in just 14 balls.
After the game when he was asked about his innings, he said, “I probably think I’m most surprised by that innings. I’m glad that it came off. I was thinking of having a swing if it was in my area. Wasn’t trying to overthink it. Very satisfying to do it on my first game this season. Was just trying to pepper the shorter boundary.”
Cummins had a tough outing with the ball as he went for 49 runs in his 4 overs. He did take 2 wickets, but Kieron Pollard took him to the cleaners in the last over of MI’s innings.
On his bowling, he said, “Happy with how it came out with the ball. Overall pretty happy.”
He took the wickets of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav. Kishan could not get going at all against Cummins who dismissed him for the 3rd time.
Cummins is happy with the fact that the KKR management were able to get most players back in the auctions.
KKR would hope that Cummins continues his form with the bat going ahead in the season.
