KKR vs MI: Twitter Reacts As Pat Cummins' Record-Breaking Fifty Hands MI Their 3rd Loss On The Trot

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by five wickets in an outstanding finish courtesy of a Pat Cummins special at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Wednesday.
Chasing a competitive target of 162 on a tricky wicket, Kolkata huffed and puffed their way to 67/3 at the halfway mark. It was only going to get tougher for the batting side as the pitch wore down.
Andre Russell was KKR’s biggest weapon but once he perished to Tymal Mills, all hopes were lost. That was until Cummins turned it on in stunning fashion. The Aussie Test captain smashed his way to a 14-ball 50, the joint-fastest in the history of the IPL.
He scored four fours and six sixes to finish the game on 56 off just 15 balls and take Kolkata over the line with four overs to spare. Rohit Sharma looked stunned as Daniel Sams’ 16th over went for 35 runs.
Earlier, Mumbai had a terrible start with Rohit failing once again. Debutante Dewald Brevis showed glimpses of his potential before being dismissed. It was left to the returning Suryakumar Yadav to take MI to a good total.
In the company of the ever-impressive Tilak Varma, Suryakumar took MI past the 150-run total. It looked like a strong total on a two-paced surface but Cummins made a mockery of the chase in a short span.
