Explosive England batsman Liam Livingstone was bought by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for INR 11.5 crore at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction on the second and final day of the two-day event in Bengaluru.
He was part of Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Liam Livingstone has played 9 Indian Premier League games in his career and has scored just 112 runs at an underwhelming average of 14.0 and strike rate of 125.8.

The English power hitter, who was the Most Valuable Player in the ECB’s inaugural The Hundred competition, had set INR 1 crore as his base price for the Indian Premier League 2022.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made the opening bid for Liam Livingstone and Chennai Super Kings were also interested in the England batsman and soon his price crossed the INR 2 crore mark.
After Chennai Super Kings’ exit, Punjab Kings joined the fray and the bid soon went past INR 5 crore. There was an intense bidding war between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Punjab Kings before the Knights decided to pull out. Then, Gujarat Titans joined the fray to compete with the Punjab Kings. Later Sunrisers Hyderabad also showed interest in Liam Livingstone but Punjab Kings won the battle against all the teams.
Meanwhile, Liam Livingstone will join the likes of Mayank Agarwal, Kagiso Rabada, Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow in Punjab Kings.
