Former Australia National Cricket Team and Chennai Super Kings cricketer, Matthew Hayden, feels that the four-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, CSK, will not be disheartened by the defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 opener.

The first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 was played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday, March 26.

Former Australian cricketer said that there is a lot of experience in the Chennai Super Kings and they will come back stronger in their second match.

“CSK will not be disheartened with the loss in their opening game against KKR. There were plenty of positives for the Ravindra Jadeja-led side.

“Their top-order saw a rare batting collapse in the first game but there’s a lot of experience in the side and I am sure they’ll come back stronger in the next game,” Aussie batting legend Hayden said during an episode of Cricket Live on Star Sports.

He added that CSK badly missed the services of all-rounder Moeen Ali in the first match but him being available for the second game will make CSK a dangerous side.

“They missed Moeen Ali in the tournament opener and he will be available for selection in the next match. CSK have it in them to it pull off and that makes them a dangerous side,” he added.

Meanwhile, the 7th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will be played between KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants and Ravindra Jadeja-led Chennai Super Kings at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on Thursday, March 31.
