Cricket fans have indeed been awake all night worrying about Virat Kohli’s extended batting downturn, as per Aakash Chopra.
In the IPL 2022 encounter between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Lucknow Super Giants last night, Kohli has bowled off the first ball he faced (LSG). At that point, he played a short Dushmantha Chameera delivery straight down Deepak Hooda’s body.
Virat Kohli’s dismissal shocked Aakash Chopra. He remarked:
“What exactly is going on? I even tweeted that this, too, will pass, that he would score runs eventually. You still hope, fingers crossed, that Kohli, the run-machine, ton-machine, would score runs at some point, and that once he does, he will not stop, but the question of “when will he score runs?” has kept us awake at night.”
Aakash Chopra criticized the current batting great’s inability to confront his form downturn. Chopra stated, ”
“Every time it appears that this guy will score runs because of his pedigree, class, and size, as well as the fact that he is such a huge player who has scored a lot of runs. I mean, the hard times will come to an end sometime, but it isn’t happening now.”
Aakash Chopra on Virat Kohli’s long run of inconsistency:
Virat Kohli has been unable to play significant innings despite when he has started well, according to Aakash Chopra. He went on to say:
“Everyone has their time, but this player has his era, as we used to say. That era arrived and flourished for a long time, but how many matches have gone since then? The runs scored in between aren’t significant.”
Kohli has only 119 runs at a terrible 19.83 average in seven innings in IPL 2022 so far. He began the campaign with an unbeaten 41, but he has only reached the 15-run mark once since then.
