MS Dhoni scored a 13-ball 28 and won the game for Chennai Super Kings against Mumbai Indians at the DY Patil stadium on Friday. It was CSK’s second win of the season and the seventh straight loss on the other hand for Mumbai Indians. Mumbai are virtually out of the playoff race, while CSK are just kicking at the right time.

Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja in his interaction with Cricbuzz has lauded the former CSK skipper saying that MS Dhoni has once again proved that he is the best finisher in the game of cricket. Dhoni scored 16 off the final over from Jadev Unadkat as he took CSK home.

“The way the match was poised with four overs remaining, only MS Dhoni could have won this for them. MI were in the game, they had in their hands but they were beaten by a bigger player. Not for the first time, MS Dhoni once again showed his prowess, maybe some people forgot about it. People were proclaiming DK as the best finisher, now just think about MS Dhoni as well,” said Jadeja.

CSK required 42 off the last 18 balls against Mumbai Indians. The side has the upper hand in the final overs but MS Dhoni along with Dwaine Pretorius kept their cool to take the Yellow Army home. Pretorious scored a handy 14-ball 22 which eased the pressure from Dhoni’s shoulders. He then took the responsibility of scoring the runs in the final over and did it with ease. Jadeja said that it was Jaydev Unadkat who was under pressure to deliver and the mere presence of MS Dhoni added to it.

“The special thing about him is that the moment he comes to the crease, the bowler begins to think and worry about what he is going to do. He has learned this with experience, it is not necessary that he has to take the charge every time. The pressure is more on the bowler, and today we got to see that. The fear that he puts in a bowler’s head is something special, that is because he has scored so much,” added Jadeja.

CSK are on four points with seven games remaining in the league stage. They need to win all seven to give themselves the best chance of making it to the playoffs.
