Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra revealed that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is keen on having Shreyas Iyer in their side to lead and they have kept a staggering INR 20 cr aside just for the Mumbaikar.
With the IPL 2022 mega auction just a few days away, the franchises will be frantically weighing their options and trying to make a list of the players they want to buy. For RCB, the top priority is Iyer.
“Shreyas Iyer could be a potential captain of KKR or RCB. I don’t think Punjab would be looking at him. Someone told me that RCB has kept 20cr for Shreyas Iyer in IPL 2022 Mega Auction.”
“The most expensive player, to be very honest, is going to be Shreyas Iyer. In this list, the most expensive will be Iyer because Ishan Kishan is not there. If Ishan was there, there could’ve been a tug of war. Now, they will reserve money for Ishan and money will be splashed out for Iyer,” Chopra told on his YouTube channel.
Aakash Chopra guesses most expensive overseas players
Based on recent performances and reputation, Chopra believes that the South African duo of Quinton de Kock and Kagiso Rabada will go for a huge sum at the auction. He also expects 34-year-old David Warner to fetch a lot of money.
“The three most expensive overseas players will be Rabada, and then one of Quinton de Kock or David Warner will be the most expensive overseas player as well. There’s a good possibility,” Chopra added.
The mega auction will take place in Bengaluru on February 12 & 13.
