PBKS vs GT: Punjab Kings’ Predicted Playing XI Against Gujarat Titans, IPL 2022, Match 16, PBKS vs GT. Punjab Kings will take on Gujarat Titans in match 16 of IPL 2022 at the Brabourne stadium in Mumbai on April 8, Friday. The Kings have played three games so far and won two of them. After losing top KKR in their second game, they registered a thumping win over CSK in their third game.

Jonny Bairstow is available for selection for the Kings in this game against Gujarat Titans. He has already reached India and has completed his mandatory isolation as well. It is expected that Bairstow will make his debut for Punjab Kings in the IPL in this match. Barring the inclusion of Bairstow, the Kings would not look to do any more changes after the team performed so well against CSK. Thus ahead of their next game against the Titans, here’s what the predicted playing XI of Punjab Kings might look like.

The southpaw will continue to open the batting for the Kings. He is yet to score his first fifty of the season but has played his part in giving his team a good start. An in-form Dhawan will be key for the Kings for the remainder of the tournament.

Punjab Kings should ideally include Jonny Bairstow from their fourth game onwards. He can replace Bhanuka Rajapaksha in the lineup being one of their big-money buys at the mega auction. The Kings roped him in for 6.75 crores and should play him in the remaining matches.

Mayank Agarwal

Agarwal can drop himself to number three in the batting line-up with the return of Bairstow. The right-hander can anchor the innings in the middle overs and set a platform for finishers like Odean Smith and Liam Livingstone.

Liam Livingstone can bat at number four or five in the batting -order depending on the match situation. He registered his highest IPL score in the last game against CSK and would like to continue from where he left off against Gujarat Titans.

Jitesh Sharma (wk)

Sharma made his debut in the IPL for the Kings in the last match and looked impressive for his 17-ball 26. He took on the bowlers head-on and hit some pretty shots giving a glimpse of his ability and talent. The KIngs should ideally give him a lot more games to prove himself.

Shahrukh Khan

The Tamil Nadu cricketer was out for a duck against KKR and scored only six off 11 balls against CSK. He will need to get back to scoring runs to keep his place in the XI. The Kings signed him up for 9 crores in the mega auction.

Odean Smith

Smith too has lost his form since his unbeaten 25 in the first game against RCB. His bowling too has been wayward and expensive. Though there are good enough players to replace Smith in the Kings line-up, the franchise would not give up on the Windies’ all-rounder just yet. Against Gujarat Titans, he will get another opportunity to showcase his skills.

Kagiso Rabada

Rabada has not been at his best bowling form for Punjab Kings as yet. He got 1 for 28 in Punjab’s last game against CSK. His battle with Hardik Pandya will be a mouth-watering prospect in the PBKS vs GT game. Shubman Gill is another batsman the KIngs would like Rabada to dismiss early.

Rahul Chahar

Chahar will be the specialist, Punjab Kings should look to field in the playing XI. He has been bowling well for them. Against CSK he took three for 25 and with Livingstone shared five wickets between themselves. Chahar will be up against the likes of Hardik Pandya which will be an exciting battle.

Vaibhav Arora

In his maiden IPL game, Vaibhav Arora impressed one and all. He took 2 for 21 including the big wickets of Robin Uthappa and Moeen Ali against CSK. His ability to swing the ball both ways will keep the Gujarat batsmen guessing for sure.

Arshdeep Singh

Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh concludes Punjab King’s predicted playing XI against The Titans. Singh was one of the two players retained by the franchise ahead of the mega auction.
