Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) spin-bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga castled Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) wicketkeeper-batsman Sheldon Jackson in the 6th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai on Wednesday, March 30.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) wicketkeeper-batsman Sheldon Jackson didn’t get an opportunity to perform in the first match as the top-order batters performed brilliantly against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

However, he got a good opportunity in the match against RCB when the top-order collapsed but Jackson was unable to make any contribution with the bat for the Knight Riders.

He came out to bat after the wicket of Sunil Narine in the 9th over and got out for a golden duck. The Sri Lanka National Cricket Team spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, who was RCB’s joint-highest purchase at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction, bowled a googly up on off, the ball sharply spun and clueless Jackson played a drive, which left a gap between bat and pad, and then the ball knocked back the off-stump.

Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and they opted to bowl first in the match. The Faf du Plessis and co. made no changes in the team and they fielded the same XI. However, Kolkata Knight Riders made one change by adding veteran Kiwi pacer Tim Southee to the playing XI in place of youngster Shivam Mavi to add extra experience to the bowling unit.

Royal Challengers Bangalore got their first breakthrough in the 4th over as pacer Akash Deep was able to dismiss opener Venkatesh Iyer on his very first ball and the Kolkata Knight Riders opener scored just 10 runs off 14 balls.

Ajinkya Rahane and captain Shreyas Iyer were batting cautiously before the former fell for 9 in the 6th over. Then came a terrible time for the Kolkata Knight Riders as they lost wickets at regular intervals and were down and out.
