RCB vs RR: Fans Slam Harshal Patel For Poor Sportsmanship After Duel With Riyan Parag

Harshal Patel had a game to forget against Rajasthan Royals as he went for 18 runs off his final over from Riyan Parag which allowed Rajasthan Royals to get to 144 after their 20 overs. As it turned out, the score proved to be enough as RCB were bowled out for 115 losing the game by 29 runs. The Royals winning a low-scoring game by a 29-run margin has taken them to the top of the points table with a far superior net run-rate of +0.561.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have now lost two back to back matches and four matches overall in IPL 2022. They have dropped to the fifth position on the points table. Harshal Patel’s on-field behavior against Riyan Parag cost them some points on the fair play award too.
Harshal had a few words with Parag after the latter scored 18 runs from his final over of the Rajasthan innings. The senior cricketer seemed to have vented out his anger on the youngster which did not go down well with the fans. They slammed him for his behaviour which was unwarranted in the heat of the moment.

As far as RCB’s batting performance was concerned, they have now been bowled out twice for low scores. They were bowled out for 68 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their previous match. The Royals bowlers were restricted RCB to 115 chasing 145 to win. In both the matches, Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli hardly made any contribution with the bat. Faf’s scored 23 off 21 balls before he was dismissed. Kohli’s struggle with the bat this season continued as he scored for nine of 10 balls. RCB now have five matches remaining in the league stage and they are on 10 points from nine games so far in the season.
