RCB vs SRH: He Is One Step Ahead Of The Bowlers - Ravi Shastri On Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik has been one of the success stories of IPL 2022. After having a difficult stint with KKR between 2018-2021, Karthik seems to be at home with Royal Challengers Bangalore. He has scored over 210 runs from seven games already in the season with one fifty-plus score. He has been dismissed just once in the season so far.

Speaking to Star Sports, Ravi Shastri has heaped praises on the veteran Indian wicketkeeper. He said that Karthik has proper clarity on his mind in terms of how he wants to get on with his game.

“He’s outsmarting the bowlers, he’s one step ahead of them. The clarity and thought process is very positive and that’s making the difference. He has the experience, he’s fit like anyone else, but what’s great to see is the hunger to score runs.

“I must say, that at his age, he’s picking up the length better than most players even younger than him” said Shastri.

Shastri further tried to explain how Dinesh Karthik is getting into good positions and executing his shots against different bowlers.

“He’s getting into great positions to play the shots, he knows what exactly his role is. He’s moving early, he’s anticipating what the bowler is going to do.

“What he’s doing extremely well this year is the anticipation which is turning out to be dead right on 90 per cent of the time and that makes a difference,” said the former India cricketer on the Cricket Live show on Star Sports.

RCB will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday at 7.30 pm at the Brabourne stadium in Mumbai. Bangalore are placed third heading into this game against SRH who are placed fifth with four back to back wins in their last four games. A win for RCB will take them to the top of the points table.
