Dinesh Karthik has been in stellar form in IPL 2022 thus far for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He has scored over 210 runs from seven games already in the season with one fifty-plus score. He has been dismissed just once in the season so far.

The veteran wicket-keeper batsman has already spoken about his intentions of playing in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. Various cricket experts have already given their opinion on him and they think that he should be a part of India’s World Cup squad as well.

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has given his opinion on how Karthik has approached the season so far. He said that the veteran keeper is fighting his own battle and is on a mission.

“This is his own fight, he wants to overcome his mind. He’s always had the talent and that’s why he debuted for India in 2004. It was for this very reason that he remained in the eyes of the selectors, but he could not retain his spot in the national side due to his inconsistency” said Kaif.

He further said that Karthik is also the X-Factor of Royal Challengers Bangalore and has conquered his brain perfectly.

“What he’s doing now, is making every game count. He’s now conquered the battle in his brain and that is why he’s scoring heavily. He has the X factor and this time he is showcasing it,” added Kaif.

Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri further said that Dinesh Karthik has proper clarity in his mind on how he wants to approach the innings.

“The clarity, the thought process is very good and positive and it’s making all the difference in the world. He has all the experience in the world. He has been around for a long. He is fit and it’s great to see that the hunger is still there.

“He is playing for a new franchise and the responsibility has been given to him clear cut. He knows his job. One thing I must say is that at his age, he picks up length better than most players younger than him, especially the short ball. He is having a ball. An absolute ball of a time,” mentioned the former Indian head coach.
