Sunrisers Hyderabad after winning 5 games on the trot have now lost 2 games on the trot as they went down to Chennai Super Kings here on Sunday by 13 runs at MCA Stadium in Pune. Kane Williamson was not too fazed by the loss though, as he believes that there were a lot of positives to be taken even though his side lost the game.

CSK had posted 202 runs on the board on the back of fantastic innings from openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway who scored 99 runs and 85 runs respectively.

It Is Always Challenging To Chase 200 Runs: Kane Williamson

SRH’s bowling has been impressive this season but on Sunday they couldn’t turn up as a unit as not only did the likes of Umran Malik and Marco Jansen go for runs but they were also hit by injuries to Washington Sundar and T Natarajan.

Aiden Markram and Shashank Singh had to bowl 4 overs between them and that costed SRH 46 runs.

At the post-match presentation, Kane Williamson acknowledged losing Washington Sundar was a costly affair.

“We had challenges trying to find overs in the first innings too. But they played well. We did not have all the resources going in, and unfortunately did not cross the line. We tried our best to adjust but losing Nattu and Washi was bad. We have to learn to deal with adversity as they can come up anytime”, he said about the lack of resources.

On how his team went about the chase he said, We chased well as the pitch slowed down. “We need to touch on things and move on, stay connected with what worked in the first half to come back by building on performances.”

SRH are still at the 4th position but they would like to get back to winning ways as the tournament enters its business end.
