Suresh Raina, who was the second retained player by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of the Indian Premier League Auction 2018, remained unsold at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru on February 12.
Suresh Raina is one of the finest batsmen in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has consistently scored runs each year and was given the title of Mr IPL.

Overall, he has played 205 Indian Premier League games and has scored 5528 runs at an average of 32.51 and a strike rate of 136.76, including one century and 39 half-centuries.
Suresh Raina has set his base price as INR 2 crore and when his name came in the auction there was complete silence at all the tables and no franchise showed interest in the IPL veteran. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) also showed no interest in bringing Chinna Thala back into the team.
Meanwhile, Suresh Raina went unsold in the first round but he will be back in the accelerated auction, which is all set to take place tomorrow, and he might get picked by a team.

Notably, the maximum number of players allowed in a squad is 25 and the minimum number of players allowed in a squad is 18. Also, a maximum of 8 overseas are allowed in a squad in the marquee cash-rich league.
