In 2010, MI finished at the top of the points table and went on to qualify for the final before losing to Chennai Super Kings.
They qualified for the playoffs in 2011 and 2012 as well and went on to win the title for the first time in 2013. In 2014, the Mumbai-based outfit qualified for the playoffs before winning the tournament again in 2015. They won the title again in 2017, 2019 and 2020.
