Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batsman David Warner was recently ousted from the playing XI and even the squad of the franchise. He has fallen out of favour with the management despite being their best player ever since he joined.

His downfall began in the first leg of IPL 2021, where he was removed from captaincy, which subsequently led to his exclusion from the team. In his absence, Kane Williamson was asked to take over. In the UAE leg of the IPL 2021 season, he was once again dropped from the team after a couple of failures.

Reacting to that, Warner posted a cryptic message on his Instagram account to reveal what was going through his mind. He wrote: “It’s not about who is real to you face. It’s about who stays real behind your back.”

David Warner unlikely to be retained by SRH given the current situation

The next season of the IPL will see two new teams being added. As a result, there will be a mega auction where all the teams will undergo major changes. Up until the previous season, it was believed that SRH would retain Warner.

Speaking about the 34-year-old, SRH head coach Trevor Bayliss reasoned that the youngsters in the squad deserved to be given the chances after Warner failed to live up to the expectations. 2021 has been a rough year for Warner, and it keeps getting worse with time.

Dave obviously was watching the game at the hotel and giving his support to the boys. Just like everyone else. We’re all in this together,” Bayliss said after SRH’s match against Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Warner led SRH to the IPL trophy almost single-handedly back in the 2016 season. He amassed 848 runs in 17 matches at an average of 60.57, including nine half-centuries.
