DC vs CSK: Delhi Capitals (DC) Predicted Playing XI Against Chennai Super Kings (CSK)- IPL 2021 Match 50. Delhi Capitals have won 3 games out of four matches in the second leg of IPL 2021 in UAE. Their impressive performance has helped them take number two position on the points table. Overall, they have nine wins and three losses in 12 matches so far.

Rishabh Pant and Co. are slated to play their next game against CSK on Monday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. A win for DC in their next game can take them to the top of the table. They would be keen to beat CSK for the second time in a row this season and consolidate their position on the table. Delhi are coming into the game on the back of a win in their last game and would be wanting to continue the winning momentum.

Here’s a look at our predicted playing XI of Delhi Capitals for a high octane clash against CSK on Monday.

Openers: Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw

Delhi’s highest run-scorer this season, Shikhar Dhawan has had silent outings in the UAE leg of the tournament. He is yet to play an impactful knock in UAE and this is a worry for Delhi. His partner, Prithvi Shaw too has been enduring a torrid run.

Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw scored 6 and 8 runs respectively in the last game against MI. The duo needs to deliver at the top of the order or Delhi’s campaign could see a downfall from here.

Middle-order: Shreyas Iyer, Steve Smith, Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer

Shreyas Iyer’s comeback has been a blessing for the side. With Shikhar Dhawan and Shaw not amongst the runs, Iyer has stood up really well for the side. He scored an unbeaten 33-run knock off just 33 balls to help his team win the game against MI on Sunday.

Steve Smith is yet to justify his position in the playing XI. He has had modest returns so far in the UAE leg of the tournament. Smith scored 9 runs off 8 balls in the last game against MI. Shimron Hetmyer too hasn’t been able to convert the starts into big scores. Having played a plethora of games in T20 cricket, Hetmyer needs to show more maturity. He got out for 15 runs off 8 deliveries in the last game against MI.

Skipper, Rishabh Pant is playing his natural game and it has come out quite well. He scored 26 off 22 balls in the last game.

All-rounders: Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin

Axar Patel mixed up really well in the last game against MI on Sunday. He bowled at great areas and also got rich dividends. Patel finished with 3 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs.  With the bat, Axar Patel was sent ahead of Shimron Hetmyer in the last game against MI.

He hit a beautiful looking boundary and scored 9 runs off 9 balls. Ravi Ashwin didn’t have a great outing with the ball against MI but showed his value as an all-rounder. He was involved in a crucial partnership with Shreyas Iyer for the 7th wicket. His unbeaten 20-run knock helped the side pull off a four-wicket win in the end.

Bowlers: Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Avesh Khan

Perhaps, none of the team in IPL this season has a better fast-bowling attack than Delhi Capitals. The trio Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada and Avesh Khan has been brilliant both in the powerplay as well as in death overs. Nortje played his first game of IPL 2021 in UAE. He has been brilliant in all the games he has played since.

Avesh Khan is a find for them this season. He, once again, starred for them with the ball against MI, picking 3 for 15 runs in 4 overs. Overall, he has 21 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 15.00. Rabada, on the other hand, has 13 wickets in 11 games at 27.08.
