Rajasthan Royals (RR) haven’t had a great season for a long time now and they will be looking to start their campaign this year on a winning note against Punjab Kings tonight. Royals won the inaugural IPL in 2008 under the leadership of Shane Warne and ever since that, it has been very a difficult run for them.

They have got a very good squad this year with the inclusion of Chris Morris who turned out to be the most expensive player in the Auction history. They have let go of experienced hands like Robin Uthappa and Steve Smith from their ranks and here are 3 stars from Rajasthan Royals who can be game-changers against Punjab Kings.

IPL 2021: 3 Stars From Rajasthan Royals Who Can Be Game Changers:

Ben Stokes:

The all-rounder from England, Ben Stokes is one of the best match-winners in international cricket and he will certainly have a big role to play for the Rajasthan Royals. He is expected to open alongside his countrymen Jos Buttler. Stokes had been in decent form in the backend of the tournament last year.

He scored a fine century and took the team over the line to get a consolidation win but it wasn’t enough to take them to the playoffs stages. He can be a wise bowler as well and takes wickets at regular intervals.

He is one of the best fielders in the world and provides the team with the right balance. Stokes is expected to be one of those game-changers against the Punjab Kings.

Sanju Samson:

The Indian wicket-keeper batsmen Sanju Samson is one of the best strikers of the cricket ball in the nation and he is an exciting talent who hasn’t been very consistent. He started off the last season with a bang but tapered off in the middle and couldn’t make it a big season again. He was also dropped from the Indian limited-overs squad after some poor outings.

Samson has been handed over the captaincy of the franchise after releasing Steve Smith and the new captain will have to be on the money right away. He has been a blow hot or blows cold batsman so far and he needs to perform consistently in this IPL season to get back in the reckonings for the Indian squad.

The captaincy could be a blessing in disguise for him and he will be a game-changer for the Rajasthan Royals against Punjab Kings if he gets into the groove.

Chris Morris:

In the absence of injured Jofra Archer, Chris Morris is expected to spearhead the bowling attack and a lot will be expected out of him due to his expensive prize money of 16.25 crores. Morris had a good season for the RCB last year but missed a lot of games due to injury.

Morris is known to be a big hitter in the middle order and has finished off games in the past. He will have been partnered by the likes of Andrew Tye or Mustafizur according to the wicket. Morris can hit the yorkers as well as can hit the seam in the powerplay. He can be a game-changer with both bat and ball and will play a huge role in Rajasthan’s success this year.
