IPL 2021: 5 Players Who Can Make Their Debuts For Mumbai Indians (MI) This Year

Mumbai Indians will start their IPL 2021 journey with the first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. It is the first match of the tournament and will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Mumbai Indians are the defending champions of the tournament. The Rohit Sharma-led team won their 5th IPL trophy last year in IPL 2020.

Ahead of IPL 2021 auction, Mumbai Indians released 7 players from their squad who were Prince Balwant Rai, Digvijay Deshmukh, Lasith Malinga, Nathan Coulter-Nile, James Pattinson, Sherfane Rutherford, and Mitchell McCleneghan. The franchise re-inducted Nathan Coulter-Nile in the squad during IPL 2021 auction after buying the Australian pacer for Rs. 5 crore.

Piyush Chawla

Indian spinner Piyush Chawla was bought for Rs. 2.4 crore by Mumbai Indians during IPL 2021 auction. Chawla is the 3rd highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League with 160 wickets in 150 games. Chawla is an experienced spin bowler in IPL.

The right-arm spinner Chawla played for Punjab Kings from IPL 2008 to IPL 2013. From IPL 2014 to 2019, he was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders. In IPL 2020, he played was Chennai Super Kings but was released by the franchisee ahead of IPL 2020 auction. Chawla will start his new journey with Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021.

Adam Milne

Mumbai Indians bought Adam Milne for Rs. 3.2 crore during IPL 2021 auction. The right-arm pacer hails from New Zealand and has played only a few games in the Indian Premier League. He played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2016 and IPL 2017, playing 5 matches in which he took 4 wickets. Milne is another player who can debut for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021.

James Neesham

James Neesham is a New Zealand all-rounder who played for Delhi Capitals back in IPL 2014. He was absent from the tournament for the next five seasons but made a comeback in IPL 2020 when he played for Punjab Kings. He was bought by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021 auction and will play for the team in IPL 2021.

Marco Jansen

Marco Jansen is a South African player who has not played an international match so far. But he has played in South Africa’s domestic T20 League Mzansi Super League. He is a tall and young pacer. Marco Jansen is another player who can make a debut for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021.

Yudhvir Charak

Yudhvir Charak was bought for Rs. 20 lakh in IPL 2021 auction. Charak plays for Hyderabad at the domestic level. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm pacer. After his good performance in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019-20, Mumbai Indians chose to buy him in the auction. He can also get a chance to play in IPL 2021 for Mumbai Indians.
