The Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) lost the match by 8 wickets against Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, October 5.

Batting first Rajasthan Royals (RR) only managed to score 90 runs, Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Evin Lewis added 27 runs which was the best partnership for RR. Meanwhile, Nathan Coulter-Nile was the star performer of the Mumbai Indians bowling unit. As he bagged 4 wickets.

Chasing the target all the Mumbai Indians batters showed aggressive intent and with the help of Ishan Kishan’s fifty Mumbai Indians was able to clinch the victory by 8 wickets to earn 2 crucial points. Also with the loss, Rajasthan Royals are officially out of the playoffs race.

It Was A Bit Challenging Wicket To Bat On – Sanju Samson

During the post-match presentation, the skipper of RR Sanju Samson stated that it was difficult to bat in the first innings and the transition from Abu Dhabi pitch to Sharjah created a big difference. He asserted:

It was a bit challenging wicket to bat on, it was tougher in the first innings. Coming from Abu Dhabi, playing in Sharjah was a massive difference.”

Can’t blame the batsmen a lot, but it was tough to bat in the first innings. Abu Dhabi had one of the best batting wickets, switching to Sharjah was tough.”

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson also told that he has a ‘bit cloudy’ mindset after the loss and they need to reassess the things before the next game. He said:

” Mindset – it’s a bit cloudy right now, we need to take some time off and then think about the next game.”

Further, Sanju Samson said they will be hoping for better performance in the next game of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Also, he lauded Mumbai Indians for batting well in the second innings. He stated:

We’d definitely like to play a better game of cricket in the next game. We knew that they’ll be coming strong, in the powerplay they wanted to increase the run-rate. The wicket was a bit better than the first innings but they batted really well.”
