Former Australian cricketer David Hussey has mentioned that Andre Russell is still in the mix to be included for the finals despite having not played for the last five games. Kolkata Knight Riders have managed to produce some excellent performances even without the likes of Andre Russell in the playing XI, and such has been their depth in the squad.

Andre Russell has been facing some fitness issues, which have kept him out of the playing XI for the last few games, but KKR has managed to keep their winning mojo going on. The likes of Shakib Al Hasan and Sunil Narine have played the all-rounder role really well, and they will have their chances of playing in the finals as well.

David Hussey Reckons Andre Russell Has Been Bowling

David Hussey mentioned that Andre Russell did bowl before the game against Delhi, and he could be in the mix for the finals against CSK. Hussey added that the collapse in the game against Delhi is not something to be panicked off and reckoned the nature of the pitches as a reason.

“He was bowling before the game (against DC) today, so he might be in the mix,” David Hussey mentioned after the Qualifier 2 was over.

“No, I’m not concerned because they’re all classy players. They know how to play. (It) is just the difficult nature of these pictures, they have been playing on, makes the middle of players, sort of stand out, they are not getting their strike rate 200,” David Hussey mentioned on the collapse.

KKR Suffers A Massive Scare In The Qualifier 2

KKR was cruising to victory at one stage in Qualifier 2, and the sudden loss of wickets created a big panic in the dressing room. They were well ahead of the net run rate and looked like finishing the game with two overs in hand until Delhi bowlers gave a massive comeback. KKR almost lost the game with 3 wickets left, and they had to hit six runs from 2 deliveries. Rahul Tripathi smashed a six and produced a big relief for the KKR fans.

KKR have entered their third final now with an excellent 100 percent win record in finals.
