After the match, Abhishek said that he was waiting for this opportunity to bat and called Williamson a great captain.

“I think it was a big opportunity for me. I was waiting for my chance and wanted to contribute for my team. Feels good that this is our first game in Dubai. Throughout my time in the nets I was planning to play an innings such as this and take my team to victory,” Abhishek told the official broadcaster of the tournament.

“Williamson is a great captain. He kept giving me the confidence and kept telling me that I could finish this match on my own,” he added.

Jason Roy hit 60 runs in his first appearance for SRH

Early in the innings, England opener Jason Roy, who replaced David Warner in the team, hit 60 runs off 42 balls in his first game for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson led from the front as he blazed 82 runs from 57 balls, with the help of seven fours and three sixes, at the strike rate of 143.86. Samson’s efforts took the Royals score to 164/5 in the first innings.

More than SRH’s victory, the talk was revolving around opening batsman David Warner’s absence from the playing XI.

Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Trevor Bayliss explained that Warner wasn’t the only senior player to be left behind, and there can be a possibility that the Australian player might not play in the remaining four games of the season.

SRH are at the bottom of the points table with just two wins from 10 matches and their chances to qualify for the knockout stage are almost over.
