Two top-notch teams of IPL 2021 in Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals will lock horns on Tuesday in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore have undoubtedly become one of the foremost contenders to win the tournament this year, owing to their consistency. The side emerging victorious on Wednesday in a new venue for both would climb to the top of the points table as well.

Delhi Capitals have lost only one game thus far, which was against the Rajasthan Royals in Mumbai. They attempted defending 148 commendably well after an underwhelming batting performance; however, Chris Morris’ batting exploits at death denied them a win. Nevertheless, the runners-up of IPL 2020 fought back to win the next two games, emerging triumphant and scoring hard-fought victories against Mumbai Indians and SunRisers Hyderabad.

The opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw is one of the significant reasons for their consistent run thus far. The likes of Rishabh Pant and Steve Smith have also crafted impactful knocks in the last two matches to drive the Capitals. Finally, their well-rounded bowling attack gives them the confidence to defend any totals against any batting line-up. While Ravichandran Ashwin, who has pulled out of the remainder of IPL 2021, would be missed, Capitals should still be able to cope up.

On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore have pretty much the same story after their share of five matches. Barring their sub-standard performance in their last game against the Chennai Super Kings, Virat Kohli’s men have looked the team to beat. Devdutt Padikkal’s class at the top, Glenn Maxwell’s newly-found consistency, along with the reliability of AB de Villiers and captain Virat Kohli, have made them a formidable outfit. Bangalore’s bowling attack, which has looked below-par in most editions, has also chipped in to make them strong.
